Brian Rowland started his career in sales and marketing more than 30 years ago. He was one of the original staff members of Tallahassee Magazine, joining the sales force shortly after the publication launched in 1978. He has been with the company ever since, and became owner/operator of Rowland Publishing, Inc., in 1990. Since then, he has concepted and launched Forgotten Coast Magazine, Emerald Coast Magazine, Bay Life Magazine, as well as 850 — The Business Magazine of Northwest Florida. He has also consulted with numerous clients, including Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort and the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa, the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, The Resort Collection of Panama City Beach, and the Seminole Boosters on strategic planning to launch and develop new products or improve existing ones.
Larry Davidson brings 20 years of award-winning graphic design and editorial experience gained at Knight Ridder newspapers The Charlotte (N.C.) Observer and Tallahassee Democrat. Since joining Rowland Publishing in 2003, he has been responsible for the successful print launches of Bay Life Magazine and the award-winning 850 Business Magazine, the redesign of Tallahassee, Emerald Coast, and Forgotten Coast Magazines, as well as all other Rowland Publishing products. In addition, Larry oversees Rowland Publishing’s technology and Internet departments and all social media initiatives. As such, Larry launched and maintains the full-content websites for all Rowland magazine titles. Before serving as online news editor for Charlotte.com, Larry designed and helped coordinate the launch of GameTimeNews.com, a special KnightRidder.com Southeast college sports site that pooled content from various newspapers. He has more than a decade of experience building online communities, server administration and web development. Also a professional photographer, Larry’s images have appeared in numerous publications and websites across Northwest Florida. Larry is married to Gina Davidson, an elementary school teacher, and has two children, Ty and Jillian, and a golden retriever named Clark.
Linda Kleindienst, the editor of 850 – The Business Magazine of Northwest Florida and Director of Editorial Services for Rowland Publishing Inc., was previously the state capitol bureau chief for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and reported from Tallahassee for 27 years. During this time, she covered the Florida Legislature and state agencies, including a wide range of issues that affect Florida business, such as the state budget, economic trends, taxes, professional regulation, insurance, education and property tax reform. A New York native and graduate of the University of Miami, she is a government and politics junkie who has covered eight governor’s races and five governors, as well as presidential and U.S. Senate races. Kleindienst is a veteran of the 2000 Florida voting controversy that led to several appearances on national and international television and radio. She has won awards for reporting on elections, hurricanes and education. She was recently second vice president of Capitolbeat, the national Association of Capitol Reporters and Editors, and treasurer and scholarship chairman for the Florida Capitol Press Corps. She has previously served as president of the Capitol Press Club, Florida Press Club and South Florida Chapter of Sigma Delta Chi. Her passions are news, horses and family. She is married to David Bruns, state communications director for Florida AARP, and has one daughter, Vicky. Since joining Rowland Publishing, 850 has been recognized as “Best Overall” and “Best Written” magazine by the Florida Magazine Association.
